We've passed this Mennonite farm so many times and viewed it only from afar from the highway. This time we took the next exit and spent an hour or so meandering through the beautiful farmland. Ah, what loveliness once you get off the highway!
We actually just returned from five days in the Penn Dutch area. It was beautiful and yes, peaceful and simple. Wonderful to see young people with that scrubbed-clean look and I never get over the smells, the markets and magnificent horses pulling their buggies. From the outside looking in, it seems idyllic. It was really nice to see them. We didn't take photos--disrespectful--but the whole area was so lovely.
