At home and abroad, the world is a fascinating place, a beautiful and exciting place, and I share my wonder and pleasure in travel on my blog--through experiences, photos, and books.
I looked at the b and w photo of NY. OK I guess if you want a comment, but it would be really cool if you said how you took the photo. Were you in a helocopter? On top of a bridge?
Hi Hugh I took this from the deck of a cruise ship. This was our first time cruising out of NYC (lovely to avoid flying somewhere first). We were headed to Bermuda.
It was extraordinary going down the Hudson, under the Verrazano Bridge and out into the open Ocean.
Behind us we could look at the George Washington Bridge and eventually the skyline at the Battery and up the East River.
The height gave beautiful perspective. I was just goofing around making this b&w, but I like the feel of it.
